Artisan: Ovenly

It’s only appropriate that the ladies who founded Ovenly met at a culinary-themed book club. Erin Patinkin and Agatha Kulaga bonded over their distaste for bad bar food, and soon partnered up to start a business dedicated to creating delectable desserts and snacks.

Based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Ovenly plays on traditional snacks and baked goods like caramel popcorn and cupcakes to make them their own. They transformed the usual box of Cracker Jacks to Spicy Bacon Caramel Corn, created with smoky bacon from pasture-raised hogs from Benton’s Country Hams, organic popcorn, and caramel made with Brooklyn Brewery Pennant Ale. Cookies and Cupcakes also take on new flavors, like the Pistachio Cardamom Cupcakes made with the freshest spices and ground pistachios.

Ovenly has caught the eye of publications like The Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, and The New York Times, and won Time Out New York’s “Best New Bakery” title in the magazine’s Food & Drink Awards 2013.

In October 2013, Ovenly partnered with New York City fashion fave, rag & bone, offering sweet and savory Maple Thyme pecans rag & bone’s pop-up shop in Japan. The pretty packaging paired perfectly with rag & bone’s chic look.

We can’t stop munching on the Spicy Bacon Caramel Corn—a With Love From Brooklyn favorite.
