Liddabit Sweets is working to satisfy Brooklyn’s insatiable candy craving--one delicious handcrafted caramel at a time.

Liddabit’s founders, Liz Gutman and Jen King, met at New York City’s French Culinary Institute, and became fast friends. United by their passion for sustainable ingredients and love of sweets, the two founded their own candy shop in 2009. Like many artisanal Brooklyn vendors, Liddabit got its start at the Brooklyn Flea.

The gals handcraft their luscious caramels in small batches, using only the freshest ingredients, from local cream to fine sea salt. Their varied inventory of treats includes bacon popcorn, candy bars, and caramels and are offered in novel flavors like Sea Salt and Fig Ricotta.

Liz and Jen have also compiled their candymaking wisdom into a collection of accessible candy recipes, The Liddabit Sweets Candy Cookbook. The pair’s easy-peasy recipe for “The Last-Minute Chocolate Hazelnut Squares” even caught the eye of Oprah Magazine!
