Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Amy Rothstein moved to New York City to earn a degree in Food Studies from NYU. During caffeine-fueled grad-school study sessions, she brewed up a business plan for an all-natural chai company to capitalize on the explosion of locally-sourced beverages at New York's cozy coffee shops and gourmet markets.
Just after launch, Amy's brother Peter moved to NYC to be her business partner. The dynamic duo now sell their handmade Dona Chai chai concentrate to over 160 coffee shops and retailers.
Dona Chai is Brooklyn’s original chai concentrate, handcrafted in small batches using fresh ginger, freshly ground cinnamon, green cardamom, cloves, black peppercorns, and organic black tea.
