Behold the Brooklyn Cruiser

In the last several years, bicycles have exploded across the borough as a means of transportation as well as a source of fun. Ryan Patrick, proprietor of Brooklyn Cruiser, a new line of urban cycles designed here in Kings County, has a deep love of the “city bike.” Noticing the proliferation of bike lanes, shops, and accessories throughout the city, he seized the moment and Brooklyn Cruiser was born.

A piece of cake to ride, handle, and brake, these city bikes – typified by upright positioning, coaster brakes, comfortable wide saddles, few gears, fenders, and racks – are “vintage inspired, built for today,” and beautiful to behold. Ryan, who has traveled all over the world and biked in most places he visited, is excited by the possibilities for expanding bicycle use in the borough they call home.

Brooklyn Cruisers have two-speed kickshift hubs, double top tube frames, leather grips, and carriers, and, naturally, are made here in Brooklyn. The design process, inspired by Dutch and European bikes, was focused on making the bike easy to maintain and enhancing its style. Recently, Brooklyn Cruiser held a naming contest to give their men’s and women’s models official names. Now guys can take home the Bedford, and gals the Carroll Gardens, to rediscover the joy of biking.

“With Love, From Brooklyn really embodies the collaborative spirit of Brooklyn. By offering up the finest that Brooklyn has to offer, it’s essentially sharing that spirit with the world,” says Ryan. “We’re beyond thrilled to be a partner.”
