Ahhh fall in Brooklyn. We're staying in town and looking forward to a boozy brunch at Colonie and checking out The Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg (now on Sundays in DUMBO).

We’ve been so high on the hog these days, we're one step away from an intervention. After stuffing ourselves silly at Pig Island, we still had a hankering for some 'cue. 

We hopped aboard the Governor's Island ferry over Labor Day weekend to indulge in a porcine orgy of epic proportions––Pig Island!  This annual porkapalooza, which inspires our Pig Island gift set, boasts 25 chefs and 80 locally-sourced hogs in a nose-to-tail feast.

If you aren't already aware of it, General Assembly, is an amazing tech mecca in the Flatiron District, which serves as a co-working space, business incubator, and education center for NYC's aspiring start-up community. 

As part of my Food/Work photo project, I have been documenting the labor that goes into so much of the great food we have in New York. Recently, the project took me to Hana Pastries, the commercial kitchen in Sunset Park that has been home to many of the artisans that have put Brooklyn on the map.
